What is Considus?
Considus is an independent software studio based in the United Kingdom, founded in 2026. It builds a small number of carefully made personal tools, designed to last, priced honestly, and built with privacy as infrastructure rather than a feature.
Who is behind it?
One person. There is no team, no investors, and no product roadmap driven by growth targets. Every product is built because it ought to exist.
Is Considus venture-backed?
No. It is entirely self-funded and independent. There are no investors, no VC timeline, and no obligation to grow or pivot. Products are built to last, not to scale.
What does Considus make?
Catchlight is the first product, a private notes, reminders and tasks app for iOS. Proton Bridge MCP is a free open-source tool that lets an AI assistant work your Proton inbox without your mail leaving your machine. More will follow when they are ready.
How does Considus approach privacy?
Privacy is infrastructure, not a feature. Every product is built with end-to-end encryption as the baseline, not as a premium tier and not as a marketing claim. Considus does not hold your keys, does not access your content, and does not sell your data.
What platforms do the apps support?
Catchlight launches on iOS, iPhone, iOS 17 and later. Other platforms will follow in later versions. Proton Bridge MCP runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. Future products may support different platforms depending on what they need to be.
What does "Considus" mean?
Three layers. From Latin, con sidus means to stargaze, to navigate by fixed points of light. Considera means to think carefully before acting. And phonetically it carries an invitation, consider us. Pronounced con-SEE-dus.
